Vasectomy on the Mornington Peninsula
Vasectomy Procedure
You may be considering vasectomy as a form of permanent contraception. We are pleased to offer the option of a vasectomy procedure in our clinic, which can usually be completed in 30 minutes.
What does vasectomy involve?
As a progressive medical clinic, we use the open ended vasectomy technique, which does not involve scalpels, cutting or sutures so it is the most minimally invasive way to perform a vasectomy.
Using local anaesthetic on the site, we make a small cut - usually only one - to the top of the scrotum and remove approximately 2-3 cm of the vas deferens (the tubes that carry live sperm from the testes).
As a vasectomy is a relatively straightforward procedure with minimal pain, many patients drive themselves home from the clinic with only mild discomfort, and return to work in 3 days.
The benefit of an experienced doctor
When it comes to a vasectomy, it is important that your doctor is well trained in the best techniques and has conducted many procedures in the past.
Dr Josh Honig is a highly experienced vasectomy doctor, who has done over 800 vasectomies. He will take the time to provide you with detailed information and answer all your questions. You will no doubt want to weigh up the pros and cons of the procedure, as it is considered irreversible, which is why we ensure our patients are fully informed every step of the way.
If you are considering a Vasectomy, a pre-procedure consultation with Dr Honig is required. Standard consultation fees apply.
Vasectomy procedure fee is $630, with a Medicare rebate of $214.05.
