You may be considering vasectomy as a form of permanent contraception. We are pleased to offer the option of a vasectomy procedure in our clinic, which can usually be completed in 30 minutes.
What does a vasectomy involve?
As a progressive medical clinic, we use the open ended vasectomy technique, which does not involve scalpels, cutting or sutures so it is the most minimally invasive way to perform a vasectomy.
Using local anaesthetic on the site, we make small cuts to the top of the scrotum and remove approximately 2-3 cm of the vas deferens (the tubes that carry live sperm from the testes).
Many patients drive themselves home from the clinic with only mild discomfort, and return to work in 3 days. As with any procedure there are associated risks, but we aim to ensure a vasectomy is a relatively straightforward procedure with minimal pain.
We make sure our vasectomy patients receive the appropriate aftercare, with appointments to ensure it has been effective in the months following the procedure.
